Designation:
Benchmark
of the European shaking tables testing
procedures (TASK 1).
Project
Leader:
CEA
Saclay, France
Objectives:
The research
objectives were:
-
To test
the large-scale model
designed by the 3 partners
and constructed in France.
Two non-linear
energy-absorbing devices
will be used, together with
a variety of inputs.
-
To carry
out corroborating analyses
of these tests, comparing
linear with nonlinear
behaviour.
-
To
investigate what effect
these results may have on
Design Costs, particularly
EC8.
-
To
transfer the model to LNEC
Lisbon and LEE Athens for
the same series of tests.
NB: LEE Athens has replaced
EERC Bristol because of the
re-building of the latter’s
laboratory.
